ADN Programs Colorado Springs, CO

The dedication and courage of nurses on the front lines of the coronavirus have inspired many to pursue a nursing degree. This seems to be the conclusion of nursing school administrators who have reported a 6 to 10 percent increase in applications to both Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs. The general public is getting a first-hand account of the unwavering commitment of nurses to healthcare, and its an inspiration to many. Even individuals with a bachelor’s degree in another field are seeking entry to accelerated BSN programs to pursue a second degree that leads to licensure as a registered nurse.

Demand for entry to prelicensure nursing programs such as the ADN is higher than normal. Instead of discouraging individuals from pursuing a career in nursing, the safety concerns for health care professionals have done just the opposite. It is not certain how long the interest will last, but applicants to nursing programs must put their best foot forward to secure admission to competitive admission programs. Applicants can bolster their portfolio and improve their chances of selection by preparing for success on the admissions test, earning high grades on prerequisite courses, gaining some experience in healthcare through paid or volunteer work, and acquiring compelling references from authoritative figures such as teachers and employers.
