ADN Programs Riverside, CA

There will be more jobs for registered nurses than in any other profession in the United States. The shortage of nurses in California affects the quality of care in medical facilities, access to care in some areas, and overall patient outcomes. In a state that’s home to more than 40 million residents, there are more than 400,000 registered nurses. As more nurses retire or move out of state, the healthcare industry has a constant need for new graduates. The Associate Degree Nursing program prepares adults to fill positions in the healthcare sector in just two years. The California Board of Registered Nursing (CBRN) provides guidelines for the education and licensure of registered nurses. Graduates of the ADN program must pass the standard National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to practice as registered nurses.

Riverside City College

The Associate Degree Nursing Program at Riverside City College is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing Inc. There are three different academic pathways for entry: Traditional (2 years), Concurrent Enrollment (2 years), and Advanced Placement (1 year).  The program admits Advanced Placement/Transfer/30-Unit option students in the spring and fall semesters but enrollment slots are limited. Vocational nurses and students previously enrolled in an RN program are eligible for entry in this option. An LPN to AND Flexible (FLEX) program is offered on a routine basis. It follows the path of the traditional program but lectures are delivered in a video-streamed format through distance/online learning. Graduates are eligible to apply to sit for the NCLEX to become a registered nurse.
