BSN Programs Fort Worth, TX

Nurses have an integral role in the healthcare system as evidenced by the continuous demand for professional nurses in all sectors of the industry. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, RN positions will increase 9% in the next decade. While the projections are positive, there is a greater demand for BSN nurses than nurses who have completed a diploma or associate degree program in nursing. Completing a registered nurse program, whether diploma, AAS, or BSN will prepare you for licensure after successful passage of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). A nurse can function as a generalist or provide specialized care, which requires further experience and education. Hence the significance of the bachelor of science degree. The four-year degree provides a broader education than the two-year associate degree, giving students the preparation needed to attend to more complex cases and perform a wider scope of practice than the entry-level ADN nurse. Besides the development of more technical patient care skills, you will also master other support services such as research, management, community health, and leadership.

Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences

Harris College of Nursing at TCU provides an innovative curriculum designed to prepare adults for work in a wide variety of agencies, including clinics, hospitals, and community facilities. The didactic and clinical components of the program emphasize the development of critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and decision-making. Students will need to take accountability for their own learning as a means to the development of clinical judgment and the application of the nursing process to solve common problems in the delivery of patient care. Experienced faculty are themselves accomplished educators, researchers, and practitioners interested in promoting the field of nursing education and practice. The modern simulation labs are outfitted with state-of-the-art technology to prepare students for patient care in the real world. The school offers a traditional track which can be completed in 4 years and an accelerated track that takes 19 months to complete. Graduates will be eligible to apply to sit for the NCLEX to become a registered nurse.
