ADN Programs Fort Worth, TX

Formal education is a must if you intend to pursue a career as a registered nurse. The Associate Degree in Nursing is a minimum credential you can earn to apply to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses from the Texas Board of Nursing. A comprehensive nursing program will equip students with skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide safe and competent care to a diverse clientele in a variety of health care settings.

In today’s health care environment where health care professionals are called to manage complex cases, there is a greater need for more nurses trained at the Bachelor of Science degree or higher. Studies link BSN-prepared nurses to better patient outcomes, lower mortality rates, fewer medication errors, and an overall increase in patient satisfaction. The degree also increases the likelihood of continued learning in areas of public health, informatics, nursing education, health care policies, and specialized tracks such as nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, and midwifery.

The ADN program is a great place to begin on the nursing career ladder but must not be the final stop. The industry values all nurses, but the influx of patients needing specialized care, demands highly competent nurses who are versed in critical thinking, communication, management, information technology, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. After completing the ADN program, the RN to BSN program should be your next stop for career advancement, better salaries, and greater rewards in the profession of nursing.
